NS388P

2U 24-Bay NVMe JBOF Storage

Overview

New Era of Direct-Attached Storage

The Netstor direct-attached NVMe JBOF, Just a Bunch of Flash, NS388P storage leads to the new era of performance, capacity and flexibility to the server storage area. With the ultra lightning-fast large flash storage capacity in a high density 2U form-factor, 25.6 GB/s throughput, and connectivity in support of multiple host servers, the new Netstor NVMe JBOF platform is exactly the most excellent solution to any mission critical server storage applications.

In Support of Existing and New Servers

The NS388P delivers data to the processor faster and is with low latency compared with any other existing interfaces in the industry. The system performance is immediately and significantly enhanced as NS388P works with the current existing or new servers. The latest Netstor PCI Express and NVM Express technology enables the central processing unit to avoid waiting for the hot data, allowing for better utilization of the computing power via the more consistent ultra high data bandwidth. As compared with conventional ones, the Netstor JBOF has significantly increased throughput and reduced latencies that lead to the better scalability and the lower total cost of ownership.

The NVMe Flash Storage for VDI and HPC

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) hosts operating system on a centralized server in a data center as server-based computing while High Performance Computing (HPC) aggregates computing power that delivers much higher performance than one could get out of a typical workstation. Presently hot data on the server is business-critical information that needs to be accessed very quickly and frequently and is used for quick decision making; in light of this situation, the hot data ought to be stored on the fastest NVMe flash storage like Netstor NS388P to achieve the immediate hot data for the present-day VDI and HPC applications.

PCIe Gen3 Ultra High-Speed

The Netstor JBOF storage implements the latest PCIe Gen3 technology, being with PCIe 3.0 ×16 host card interface by way of 8 Gbps throughput per lane, and is created with dual PCIe switch controller modules that are able to offer high-speed data transfer rates up to 256 Gbps (equals to 25.6 GB/s) to single host server, dedicated in favor of varied lightning-fast NVM Express applications.

256 Gbps

The Dual Port Redundant Architecture to NS388P-D2

The Netstor 2U JBOF storage adopts PCIe 3.0 2x2 dual port design that increases host/server aspect’s redundant level. In addition, the JBOF unit is created with dual hot-swappable PCIe switch boards supporting high redundancy, and is also equipped with dual hot-swappable 800W 80 PLUS Titanium high-efficiency redundant power supplies, making all the major components within the enclosure be with redundant in support of high security and server storage combination running continuously with zero system downtime.

Base Mode / Virtual Switch Mode

The 2U 24-bay NVMe JBOF NS388P storage is considerately designed to support both Base Mode and Virtual Switch Mode to provide users multiple ways to build the systems with the blazing-fast NVMe flash storage: Base Mode allows IT administrators to have two servers access the same Netstor JBOF storage simultaneously by the ultra lightning-fast connection, or simply connect the JBOF storage to single host server for operation while Virtual Switch Mode lets four or up to eight servers access the same Netstor JBOF at the same time for any application and production.

Complete CLI Management & Monitor Status via LCD

NS388P provides complete management through CLI for the users. Only via simple command, status of PSU, fan, and temperature can be obtained effortlessly; U.2 NVMe SSDs’ state info within the enclosure can be reached, and Base mode and Virtual Switch mode are able to be selected. Additionally, the Netstor 2U NVMe JBOF storage has been considerately designed with a front intuitive LCD control panel to let administrator access storage components’ info directly and instantly without the requirement to use GUI software at the server side.

U.2 SSD Hot-Plug Drive Tray

Equipped with the latest Microsemi PM8535, 8 GT/s 80-Lanes PFX PCIe Gen3 switch, each U.2 NVMe SSD slot port within the NS388P enclosure has the capability for supporting U.2 PCIe NVMe 2.5” SSD hot-plug function.
